Ultimate F1 Playlist
For many individuals, music is a large part of their lives, Formula 1 drivers included. Whether they are listening to music to help them unwind after a race, listening to songs to get them pumped up whilst training or to get themselves in the zone for race day, we often see our F1 drivers with headphones in listening to their favourite tunes.
Many athletes use music to help them focus before competitions as it allows for them to set aside any distractions - of which there can be many on the grid! There have been many scientific studies performed to understand the psychological effects of music on athletes and it is no wonder why it is such a popular way to help performance in many settings.
Anyhow, we have made an “ultimate F1 playlist” with songs we think best describe our present our drivers on the grid!
LEWIS HAMILTON

Pipe by Christina Aguilera (feat. XNDA)
We had to select this song for Lewis as he actually made his singing debut on this track using the pseudonym of XNDA. Lewis has always been passionate about music and has always said he was very serious about pursuing a music career, whether that be large or small we can tell from this small feature that Hamilton is a man of many talents not just racing.
Champion by Chip and Chris Brown
The 2nd song chosen explains itself and the lyrics could not be more true Lewis, he is a champion. If you want to know what kind of music Lewis listens to head to his Spotify profile after this, he is constantly on Spotify and uploads new playlists for his fans.

Coffee Bean by Travis Scott
This goes without explanation to those who follow the drivers of Formula One but our coffee king deserves nothing less than a song dedicated to his favourite beverage. For those who have only been following F1 for a short time or are just getting started, Valtteri is known for his love for coffee around the paddock with the Mercedes Instagram page posting a pic of Valtteri and his espresso. Although we are not sure whether the Finn loves his porridge or coffee more, the search for a song about porridge was unsuccessful (no shock there).

We couldn’t help ourselves! The song choice for Seb may have been influenced by his sudden decision to leave Ferrari at the end of this year.

Super Max! by the Pitstop Boys
The Orange Army of Max Verstappen fans have really outdone themselves with this song. Max’s orange army are known for being extreme fans taking up grandstands and wearing the fluorescent orange to every race but this just proves the admiration these fans have for Max, making a song for him! Fun fact: Max is known to love a bit of MJ.

Underdog by Kasabian
In his rookie season Alex Albon proved to the world that he was no ordinary drive. The Red Bull driver started off his debut season in Toro Rosso and was showing he had very good potential for a rookie. After a nightmare first half of season for Pierre Gasly, Albon shot up to Red Bull for the second half of the 2019 season to take his place. With only a few F1 races under his belt Alex proved he was willing to fight for the team and be the driver Red Bull were looking for.

Smooth Operator by Sade
This song choice comes as no surprise to fans of the Spanish driver, who can frequently be heard singing this song in the cockpit of his car. The McLaren driver can’t help but sing this after a good performance with his voice which can only be described as angelic. The previous statement may have been a slight exaggeration but whenever you hear Carlos sing this song it brings a smile to your face.

Stop It by FISHER & Pour the Milk by Robbie Doherty, Keeves
We couldn’t decide between the two! The song choice of stop it may also be recognised by its lyrics “I’m moving up and down side to side like a rollercoaster”. This first song can be traced to several videos posted on the two McLaren drivers Instagram stories of them bumping their heads to the song while filming for a Coca-Cola advert, but also to Lando having a singsong in his cockpit to the catchy tune. The second song is pretty self-explanatory when it comes to Lando Norris, the world’s largest milk consumer according to himself.

The Aussie is known for doing this action on the podium and entertaining the crowd by getting others on to join. It makes for a great show and we love watching Dan celebrate on the podium, we hope we can see that happen again in the near future!

This second song from the Aussie often features in his Instagram videos and is very chilled just like Dan the man.

We had no other option but to select this song for the Iceman! His cool attitude on and off the track has gotten him his nickname. The iceman has the ability to not put himself under any kind of pressure in the demanding job of being an F1 driver. He doesn’t care what people say or think and we love it!

We picked this song as Giovinazzi’s car number is 99 but it is also no lie that the Italian is famous among the attendee’s paddock. His long hair and Italian accent could charm anyone.

the racing point driver is no stranger to pink. Checos skills on the track are so smooth and can be seen to sneak up on his opponents and slyly overtake. We couldn’t think of a better song for him!

Money, Money, Money by ABBA
Lance is known for being one of the richest drivers on the grid due to his father’s fortune. With his yacht usually docked in Monaco for the Grand Prix, it is not hard to figure out why we chose this song. Although Lance is very wealthy, the Canadian driver has proven with his driving skills that it isn’t just money that is keeping him in F1 (although it probably helps hehe)!

Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis
There are 2 reasons for this song choice when it comes to Kevin. The driver is not scared to get to where he wants when he’s racing and when given an opportunity he will go for it. There is also the famous moment between his number one rival Hulkenburg at the 2017 Hungarian GP, where Kevin tells him to do a certain action.

This song relates to Romain as he is often under scrutiny by others. Grosjean is a very skilled driver but he is often criticised for how he lets pressure get to him. Romain is still a very good driver and can pull great results out of nowhere and many people seem to ignore these and hate on him. He should be mega proud of his achievements and sing this to anyone who has anything bad to say about him.

The British driver is often mugged off by his racing friends for his need to always take his top off. George is often seen taking a shirtless pic for Instagram and his friends have made sure that it is a punchline to an on running joke between them. George has carried on the joke by stating that “you’ve got to give the fans what they want”.
